FPV FAQs

What are the pros and cons of FPV?
FPV boasts fast, action packed movements with a new and unique style of aerial shooting. The drones are small and agile, built to fly through small spaces. Cons of FPV include a limited flight time, as well as limited payload weight capacity. While these drones are built to crash, they can also be prone to breaking down.
How is FPV different from regular drones?
FPV is unlike traditional drone flying, where the pilot operates the drone from the ground perspective. FPV pilots use the live video transmission from the drone's camera to see where they are going and in turn aim the camera live as they go. The video is transmitted from the drone to a pair of FPV goggles which the pilot wears for full immersion and ultimate accuracy when flying. FPV feed is available to be tapped out of the goggles to a viewing monitor or VT solution on set.
What should I look for when booking an FPV?
Make sure that the supplier has spare FPV drones for the day. When booking, understand what kind of shots you want and we can recommend the optimal drone. Make sure that the clients and crew understand that FPV drones are built to take risks and therefore crash and its not a big deal, hence the spares. Just because it’s a small drone with a cheaper camera doesn't mean its cheap, as the crew could be breaking up to 3 per day trying to achieve the shots required. The equipment will be  put to the test and reap the reward of good footage and stoked clients.
